Cebu Pacific Check-in Guidelines

Gone are the days when you can hop out the taxi and run through the airport to the boarding gate just in the nick of time to board a plane. These days, there are several screening process that make long lines at security check-in points in the airports. To avoid delays or not being able to board a plane, and as a courtesy for others waiting for check-in process, know and follow the following check-in guidelines:

1. Guest must bring a valid photo-ID on the day of travel. Guest need to present this to airport security when entering the airport terminal and upon check-in. The name in the photo-ID should match the guest's name that was entered upon booking. If guest fails to present a valid photo-ID, he/she may be refused check-in. For senior citizens and persons with disabilities, OSCA ID and PWD IDs need to be presented at check-in.

2. Check-in counters open 2 hours before scheduled time of flight departure and strictly close 45 minutes before flight departure for domestic flights. For international flights using A319 / A320 and A330 aircraft departing the Philippines, check-in counters open 3 hours and close 45 minutes before flight departure. For flights departing Dubai, check-in counters open 3 hours and close 1 hour before flight departure. A confirmed booking shall be cancelled and released to wait-listed persons if the guest failed to check-in within the prescribed time.

3. Guests must be at the boarding gate at least 30 minutes before flight departure as the airline closes the gate 15 minutes before flight departure for all flights using ATR/ A319 and A320 aircraft. For flights using A330 aircraft departing the Philippines, boarding commences 45 minutes and gate closes 15 minutes before flight departure. For flights departing Dubai, boarding commences 45 minutes and gate closes 20 minutes before flight departure. Guests not at the boarding gate at the prescribed time will not be allowed to board the aircraft.

4. Guests are responsible in ensuring compliance with the immigration, custom or other legal requirements of the countries that guests have flown from, or will fly into or over. Guest should ensure that he/she possesses a valid passport with at least six (6) months validity from the date of the guest departure and the applicable valid visas. Guest must also have a printed copy of return or onward ticket and must be able to satisfactorily prove upon request sufficient means of financial support during the guest's stay in the country of destination.

5. Cebu Pacific is strictly a point-to-point carrier and shall not be responsible for any connecting flight arrangement which guest may choose to make. Guests are advised to plan any connecting flights accordingly.

6. For web and Call Center transactions, all guests (other than those exempted from paying travel tax), departing from the Philippines to international sectors shall pay the Philippine travel tax amounting to PhP1,620.00 at the respective airport in the Philippines prior to departure.

7. Guests are strongly advised not to bring valuable and fragile items as checked baggage. If guests check them in, the airline shall not be responsible for the damage to those items and that guests agree that the airline will carry them at guest's own risk.

8. Check-in bag must not exceed 32kg per piece in accordance with the occupational safety rules to avoid injury to porters. To promote swift check-in, kindly ensure that your check-in bag is well within the 32kg weight limit. Otherwise, guests will be requested to lessen the contents from the bag weighing more than 32kg and transfer the contents to another check-in or carry-on bag. Any bag exceeding 32kg will not be accepted as check-in baggage.

Now you can get the seats that you want when you want it with Cebu Pacific Seat Selector. Every time you book your flight, you get your seats as well! For a minimum fee, you can choose between two seating options to suit your taste. Does Cebu Pacific Allow Refunds?

GENERAL RULE

Generally, Cebu Pacific Air does not allow refunds. When you need to cancel your flight, you will be left with no other option but to rebook the same or apply for a travel fund. The same is true in cases of:
  1. flight cancellations for safety and security reasons (as determined by the Airline), or when justified by circumstances beyond the Airline’s control, or
  2. suspension of the operation of a route for reasons outside the Airline’s control, or
  3. flight diversions, or
  4. flight delays of three hours or less.

WHEN REFUND IS FEASIBLE

However, there are instances when refund is feasible. Clause 7.2 of Cebu Pacific's Terms and Conditions of Carriage of Passengers and Baggage states that fares paid and received by the Airline will be refunded to the Passengers upon their request where:

1. The refund is sought following the occurrence of flight cancellations and route suspensions for other causes, or flight delays or postponements of more than three hours;

2. The Passenger is not allowed or failed to board the flight for reasons other than his non-observance of Cebu Pacific's General Conditions or any Regulation or applicable law;

3. The airport of departure or the airport of destination is within the Republic of Korea;

4. The Passenger died or suffered a serious illness before the scheduled flight.

REFUND FEES

Refunds will be subject to the Airline’s refund process in force at the time of the request. In some cases, the airline may charge a fee for processing and releasing the refund. Cebu Pacific will deduct the refund fee from the total amount claimed, except in the instances cited in numbers (1), (2) and (4) of above where the refund fee is waived.

PROMOTIONAL FARES

Some fares, including Lite Fares and promotional fares, are not eligible for refund.

WHEN TO FILE CLAIM FOR REFUND

Where fare refund is available to a passenger in the instances cited in the General Conditions, that passenger must file his claim for refund within one year of the date of intended travel, failing which the fare will be forfeited.

NOTE: Cebu Pacific policy and travel regulation could change anytime, so it is important that you must verify with the airline should you need to apply for refund.

Cebu Pacific Flight Restrictions for Pregnant Women

Airlines have their own flight restrictions for pregnant women. As regards Cebu Pacific, their Travel Regulation provides:

“It is the responsibility of pregnant passengers to advise the airline of the progress of their pregnancy during booking and upon check-in.

Expectant mothers may be required to accomplish and submit a Special Handling Form as a precondition to acceptance for carriage depending on the stage of their pregnancy, thus:

Pregnancy below 24 weeks:
the Special Handling Form is not required
Pregnancy 24 to below 34 weeks:
the Special Handling Form is required to be presented together a medical certificate signed by the pregnant passenger’s personal OB-Gyne.
Pregnancy 34 weeks and beyond:
the airline will refuse carriage of the pregnant passenger

The airline may require the expectant mother to complete her travel within the validity period of the Special Handling Form.”

Yes. Under Clause 6.1.2 of Cebu Pacific's General Terms and Conditions for Carriage of Passengers and Baggage, the Airline may allow the transfer of a flight reservation and change of name of any passenger in the Itinerary Receipt subject to the following conditions:
  1. the change is requested more than 1 day before the date of scheduled flight;
